Michelle's project

Michelle's project - student project

I just want to say how grateful I am for all the knowledge thar Art Mother has shared with us during this course. I am beyond impressed for the results and to think that I have accomplised so much makes me very very happy.

This course really exceeded all my expectations. It was very easy to follow the instructions and the energy and vibes of the teacher made it very, very enjoyable. Thank you so much!

I want to share everything I loved about this project:

I must say that I went a little bit crazy with the lines making during the first steps, as I have always felt that my traces are rather shaky. I fell instantly in love with the zentagles, and found it quite therapeutic, really.

As we moved to the shapes and the forms and the shades I began to feel scared, since shading always felt very intimidating to me. But I found it very fun to do and made me realize that it was good practice in order to learn how to observe better. I couldn't quite believe that I had drawn that apple and pear, it was an amazing feeling!

I also tried draing a mug, here are my drawing and the original reference:

I would really like to hear your opinion about the result, which I wasn't as happy with. I think I may have gone a little too hardcore on the cast shadow.

And then oh - the face! I didn't really have high expectations about my results, but they weren't as terrible as I thought they would be. Although realism is not quite my thing and I'd like to develop more of a cartoony style, I found the exercise immensely helpful. To be able to break the proportions gave me so much more comfort at the time of drawing faces. Here are my notes on features and the actual face result:

By the end of the course, I felt so full of knowledge and motivation that I wouldn't know how to correctly express it in words. I did a little project, tried to do a composition with shapes only and tried to add some proportion practice to it, though this last part resulted especially difficult:

So that's a brief summary about why I loved this class so much. Once again, thanks to the amazing teacher, I'll be soon starting the sencond part of this masterclass and I'm looking forward to seeing many more classes by the Art Mother ! <3

I'd be happy to receive any feedback :D
