Marsh Camel, Quad Skimmer, Big Brute

Hi everyone! I go by quite a few names but you can just call me Sparta. Creature design is kind of what I do, but I constantly feel like I'm defaulting back to the same shapes and ideas. So I'm hoping this class will help me branch out a bit!

Anyway, these are the preliminary sketches I've come up with so far. I've numbered the ones I'd be interested in pursuing further, but I've since further limited it further to 1 and 3. I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with 4, but I'd rather tackle it on my own time rather than for the class.

So, what I've got in mind so far:

1. A big hulking beast, probably living in mountains or at the mouths of caves. Not sure if it would be a predator or just an herbivore with good self-defense, but it would have a tough hide and not many things would mess with it. Its skin texture would probably resembe an elephant or rhino.

2. A semi-aquatic camel-like creature. It has smooth, hairless skin, nostrils at the end of a prehensile snout (like a tapir, but shorter) that can be used like a snorkel, a wide tail fin for propulsion in deeper water, and wide feet to help stand on mud without sinking, or paddle in water. The "hooves" would also be hollow so it could hook them on a rock or branch to anchor itself. I like the idea behind this one but the design itself is a little boring so far.

3. A 4-winged flying creature. I imagine it would actually be a mammal rather than a bird or reptile. It would glide down over the water's surface and skim for tiny food particles. The tail and hind wings help with steering and the single hooks on each wing allow it to land on trees and rocks.

....Did I put too much thought into these already? Whoops...

Anyway, I can't decide which ones to keep and which ones to scrap. Definitely something to think about.
