Magazine Layout - Disneyland Paris

Magazine Layout - Disneyland Paris - student project

I decided to make a magazine layout using photos from our recent holiday to Disneyland Paris.

I sketched out some thumbnails of what I thought could be possible layouts. I knew I wanted to use an image of sleeping beauty's castle as the main image, and liked the idea of having it full bleed and full size on one page so I based my ideas around that.

I went into InDesign and played about with a few of the layouts. I was having trouble a little because of the photos I chose. I eventually settled on something similar to one of my thumbnails that I think worked ok. I used placeholder text for the body copy.

Finally, I used a mockup PSD to see what it might look like in a real magazine:

Overall, I'm happy with the final result, especially as this is the first magazine style layout I've ever done by myself. I've used scale, grids, hierarchy and framing out of the principals outlined in the course.
