Losing the last 5kg and gaining the first 5km

I'm finishing a degree in nutrition, I have certificates in fitness and nutrition psychology... so why on Earth aren't I lean and fit!? I can definitely talk the talk, but I need to start walking the walk... or running the run! Starting with getting back to my happy, lower-end weight and then building muscle and tone, whilst increasing my fitness, starting with 5km and then 10km, 15km and who knows where after that!
