Lose the weight and be happy with myself.

Lose the weight and be happy with myself.

Updated Jan, 25th 2013

I have always been overweight.  I come from a family of people who love food!  My mother put me on my first diet when I was in 4th grade and I think since then I have been fighting that.  I'm good at losing weight and then I'm great at putting it back on.  I've tried almost every diet in the book.  But I guess I never tried just eating right and working out.  I did weight watchers a couple years back and lost around 60 pounds.  I was working out almost everyday and eating semi-healthy.  About the time I got to my smallest I went to the doctor and they found melanoma in my shoulder.  I went through two surgeries (and two big scars) and also a year long treatment.  It was rough...I didn't really have the energy to do anything.  But not I've been off the treatment for 8 months and I'm still making excuses why I'm not losing weight or working out.  So as of January 1 I started trying to go to the gym more frequently and started trying to eat well. So here are my goals for this year...and I guess my project.

2013 Goals:

- Workout 5 times a week.
- Get my unhealthy eating under control.  I want to start eating clean!
- I have about 80 lbs to lose and I'd like to take a good chunk of that out this year!
- I want to start training to run a 5k.
-I want to be happy with my body again!

Plan:

  1. Go to the gym or other exercises (walk at the park, yoga video, etc.) at least 1 hour a day at least 5 times a week.
  2. In March I will start the C25k running program.
  3. Start eating healthier. (More veggies and no more junk food)  Track everything I eat and log it on MFP.
  4. Cook at home instead of eating out. It will be better for me and save some money! :)

Update: January 25th

I have worked out 5 days a week for at least an hour for the last two weeks.  It has mainly consisted of the eliptical machine and walking.  But I have also tried some yoga and a spinning class.

You can check out my page to see the workouts.

I have also started eating a cleaner diet.  I haven't eaten fast food in the last two weeks and have tracked everything I've eaten in MFP.

I have cooked almost everyday for myself.  I've gone out to eat twice in the last two weeks and those were with family.

Since the new year I have lot 8 lbs as of last sunday and feel like I'm going strong! :) I"m hoping to have another loss this week!
