Los PIDDO

Hello,

It's funny how you can summarize in a couple of icons what your family stands for. In my case, my family (PIDDO from my mother side) lives in Viña del Mar, Chile, but we have strong arab roots (Palestine and Lebanon).

That got me the initial idea for the shape and later, for the colors. The leaves are from the vineyard, to make Dolmas, which are delicious by the way!

Then, the images would go very spontaneously: The "OK" sign is the logo of my grandfather business. The central bowl is Marmaon, a typical Lebanese dish that my grandmother would cook each Sunday to gather the whole family. The medal is kind of a joke because my grandpa would always brag about how he always won different championships when he was growing up (of course, local contests only) :p

The phrase "unidos jamás serán vencidos" means "Together will never be defeated" and it's something my grandpa would always insist, saying that family comes aaalways first.

For the white over black example, I'm not very convinced about how the central icons look like, but for the moment, the green and red palette is my fav.

Great, great class and exercise!

Cheers, Caro
