Locally "Bread" (Updated Mon. 12/10)

My plan is to concoct a locally-inspired bread recipe! My area is historically Italian, so I'm thinking pizza dough or some really hearty white bread for deli sandwiches.


Made bread in a bread maker last night - no specifically local ingredients (it was whole wheat honey), but wanted to see if I liked it better than hand kneaded. The crust was really awesome - crunchy, but the bread inside was dense and moist. Really good!

I'm pivoting my idea! Instead of making a bread with local ingredients, I actually think I'm going to work on making a bread spread with local, Brooklyn ingredients!

TBD which ones...maybe something Italian-themed, since my neighborhood has a ton of traditional, Italian food stores.
