Living The Dream

|| Disclaimer: I am slightly late to the class... ||

||| *UPDATE 7/23/14* Draft 2 is up! Thank you everyone for your very helpful feedback. I sincerely appreciate it. I have not been at my computer for the past couple of days but for those who requested my feedback I will be getting to you within the day. Promise. Scout's honor. Again, thank you! -T |||

Step 1: Selecting Your Text (why I selected this text)

I chose "The Untold Lie" from Winesburg, Ohio:

I wanted to stay as loyal as possible to the source text, so I conveniently set my adaptation in modern Hawaii where I am currently residing, since the beauty of Winesburg was significant to the story just as the beauty of Hawaii is significant to my adaptation. So that's a reason why I selected this text: I found it easier to adapt, since I already have everything I need. It was easy for me to stay away from things that would make my film budget high (in the event this would turn into a real production).

But the main reason why I chose from Winesburg is because although the story is set in the early 1900's, I thought it had a relevant theme to modern times. It is perhaps very relatable to many (married) people today.
