Little Red Riding Hood

Pattern Design Session: 2 Weeks to Perfect Patterns with Elizabeth Olwen.

Sorry I'm behind. I love making mood boards for inspiration- thanks for adding this to Pattern Design. If I don't create a mood board I tend to be even more all-over-the-place than I normally am. I'm trying to create a pattern or two that can go along with an illustration I created for classic story, Little Red Riding Hood. I hope I can keep on track:)

Here's a sample of the many sketches I completed, while trying to figure out which characters I like the best.

Continuing on, I took a photo of each sketch page, then digitally traced them. I left out the ones I didn't really like.

After I organized the images, it was time to colour. I used the eye dropper directly from my illustration to find my colours.

Just when I thought I was done, I have this hairline that I can't seem to make go away. I've repeated the pattern process again and again but nothing works. It may be because I'm using CS3? If anyone else has this problem and knows how to fix it I would love to hear how. Thanks

Well, I just couldn't let the hairline get the best of me, so I cheated and quickly edited it out in photoshop:)
