Gabrielle's class was an absolute joy to follow, and taught a lot of fundamentals that are absolutely invaluable. I've only bought a tablet a few weeks ago and digital art is completely new to me, but the digital painting techniques that she went through were very helpful in actualizing my work.
These stylized portraits were based off a friend's Instagram picture. I wouldn't call them 'finished' per se (got lazy around the hair and clothing), but I thought they were enough for the purpose of exploring the lighting techniques. The lighting scenarios are the same as the ones used in the examples given, and I was going back and forth between the video and my own attempts. In retrospect, I should have brought up the rosiness of the model, and bump up the saturation in the shadows to make them look less muddy.
