Lettering my company's values

I am lucky enough to be able to practice and exicute my chalk lettering in my office!

I've found that I have trouble doing many quick sketches first, and instead I work over and over again on the drawing. So far it's been ok for me, however, I sometimes I create letterforms I like that don't work for the piece, but because I need to erase them, I lose them. I try to remember to photograph them at least to refer back to it later.

-----

I started out by sketching the values in different personalities. As they are the focus of the wall, I wanted to base the tone of the lettering off the most important element.

Once I landed on a look, I sketched out the approximate size of the wall I'd be lettering on. Then I proceded to fill in the other elements of the art.
