Lettering in watercolor

Lettering in watercolor - student project

As always your classes are so much fun.  My handwriting is a mess.  My pulse is horribly shaky, but I guess that is normal for beginners. I also found it hard to decide on what words to draw.  Nothing profound to share here.  I drew a blank almost all the time.  Need to work on my botanicals too.  Still had tons of fun in this class.  Thank you for sharing your skills.

I remembered that in high school my handwriting changed from elegant slanted cursive to really round fat lettering, which I thought really cute at the time.  Now I live by the beach and that round lettering reminds me of those rope signs you see by the beach bars.  So that is what I did.

Balancing different fonts is hard.  I can see how helpful testing it digitally first would save tons of time before rendering it in watercolor.  I need to learn that skill.
