After taking Gabrielle Brickey's Skillshare class 'Learn to Draw: Daily Practices to Improve Your Drawing Skills', I practised some of the techniques using the course resources provided.
Below are the shapes and form exercises (wolf), the negative space exercise (the chair), and the shading form exercise (sphere). All of these were completed using Procreate.
I wanted to try a digital painting from a photograph and went online to find a photo I liked. I found a photo by Bruno Salvadori (can be found here: https://www.pexels.com/photo/selective-photography-of-woman-putting-lollipop-in-her-lips-2179725/). Although it was originally in colour, I wanted to paint a black and white photo but with the lollipop red. Overall, I am happy with the final result; however, after having a break from the iPad and looking at it now, there are definitely issues, particularly in the cheeks, eyes (way too big!), and lips/mouth. In the future, I hope to redo this portrait, and see an improvement after more practice :)
