Landscape of Mist

For this project I used A4 Canson Medium Cold Press paper, a size 10 round brush, Ultramarine, Burnt Sienna and Ivory Black Louve tube watercolour paints. I did not have any grey as recommended in the materials lesson so I decided to try a little black instead.

My first attempt was fairly successful apart from the bleeding on the left side. I'm quite happy with the trees on the right, but less so with the trees toward the bottom.

For my second attempt I decided to change the orientation of the painting. I think I may have added too many trees and lost the shape of the mountains. The trees aren't as defined as my first attempt either. Nevertheless this was a lot of fun to do. I really enjoyed the techniques and would never have thought to utilise a spray bottle. The effects of it were quite amazing.

Thank you Jean! Looking forward to the next class!
