Knowing my paint

Knowing my paint - student project

Is it 28th already!? I've finally finished the project and here is what I have so far.

While painting, I've tried to incorporate everything from the lessons into one composition, that is, I've tried to use different paper, use more or less water, layer elements, pick different brush sizes, improvise or plan by sketching with a pencil beforehand and so on.

Materials I used are: watercolors (Koh-I-Noor) and gouache (Reevse) - never tried acrylic gouache but I'll definitely think about it; Fabriano paper for watercolors (flat and textured), Ars brushes (from the local art shop).

For watercolors I picked some flowers to paint:

Then I saw one of the members here (Mary Johnson) painted insects and I thought it was such a great idea, so I gave it a try. I had so much fun painting butterflies using gouache. It was just so pleasing.
