Kids of Cambodia

I recently went to Cambodia while traveling through SE Asia on a solo trip and it was, by far, my favorite of the places I visited.

The genocidal history is so very recent and its lasting effects are palpable when talking to just about everyone you meet. Research says that even children who were not present during the Khmer Rouge takeover of the country are affected by PTSD which can be passed down from parents in the form of observed reactionary techniques.

It's a raw country, but it's a beautiful one. And I found some of the most beauty in the children.

By the end of my six weeks in Cambodia I found myself and the people around me acting even more like free-spirited children. I think the kids of Cambodia rubbed off on us and I'm so thankful for that.
