Keeping going.

I have tried a few of the lettering workshops and began to feel that I would never work it out. I really like how modern calligraphy looks so it was particularly frustrating. This time I feel I at least understand what I am doing even if it is still imperfect and much more difficult than it looks.

I have recently spent a lot of time  in a Victorian seaside town in Dorset UK and that influenced my phrase. I outlined in pencil and then too vigorously rubbed out so I had to start again. Now I have taken photos the mistakes are very obvious but better than I have done before. I should have put in guides for the height of the letters. Could not resist trying the white pen on a beach stone. I used a uni-ball fine liner.
