Keep Going

Keep Going - student project

I loved this class so much! Not only was the color palette exercise extremely helpful, but the drawing technique with layered sketches starting with loose to refined was very new to me. I'll use it from now on. Thank you so much for this class! My first thought was "If only they spelled things out for me like this in design school". Such a useful class.

For my monochrome project, I went with Saturn as the theme (my favorite planet) and went with my mono palette based on my red from my personal brand color palette. I made a color palette for my personal art a while ago, but this helped me see how I can expand on it. I also tried a couple more palettes.

For the next project, I went with the analogous palette from the same red palette and illustrated a dog and a plant. I tried one in blue as well.

Finally, for the last illustration I used the complementary palette from my lilac color exercise, I chose the pinwheel to symbolize continuous motion and sunflowers to symbolize growth. The zigzags symbolize the rough patch the world is currently in in 2020, but the message suggests we all must Keep Going.
