This was a truly enjoyable experience. I learned a great deal about working with Smart Objects, and several other Ps tools (I am new to Ps). Thanks so much for a great class!
Here is just one version of the many I have come up with during this process. It has sort of a wedding feeling to it, although that was not my intent. I started with a photo of roses and orchids that my kids gave me on Mother's Day, and figured out pretty quickly that I had to flip it upside down first, so I could get the pink around the outside. :) I was really surprised at how it turned out. I didn't expect the flowers to still look like flowers, but they do.
I had some trouble getting the offset to work for filling the corners. I had blank space in between the 1/4 circles. But I learned how to use the clone tool to fill that in, and it worked well enough for a first try. With practice, I'm sure I'll figure out how to avoid that issue.
Again I just want to say thank you for providing this excellent tutorial. I will be making more kaleidoscopes and will keep coming back for more classes :)
