Art Fundamentals for Beginners - Line, Form and Shading

Hi there, sorry for the delay in responding. What I might do is draw over with a couple of notes tomorrow as opposed to trying to write everything out as it will be easier. In short, you've got the general ideas right for most of these, just the boxes need a little bit more work with their perspective. I'll sketch those notes tomorrow for you. Did you have nay questions on the meantime?

It's great you want to do the work! When you should move ahead is ultimately going to come down to you and what you feel comfortable with. What I would suggest though is not to rush through everything.  There's a lot to learn with drawing and the worst thing we can do is just move on quickly from one lesson to the next because there's a good chance we won't remember everything. The important thing is to develop an understanding of the basic fundamentals that we went over in this lesson. Think of line, form and value as real practical tools, your hammer, your saw and your measuring tape as it were. We wouldn't build a house unless unless we learn how to use these tools first.  Same with drawing. So make sure you always practice these basics, even I still practice them up regularly. Once we start to get a handle on these tools we ca really start to let our artistic side come out. I'll get you those additional notes tomorrow.  Let me know if there's any other questions. :)

The box is the area you need to work on the most. Notice how in some of your sketches you're got your depth lines going in different directions. We need to ensure the planes on our box are diminishing to that Vanishing Point on the Eyeline. It's going to be super vital to practice this because the box is the form that has the most information about where it sits in 3D space. The ball and cylinder you've got the right idea going, just need to work on the execution a bit more. The box however is what you need to work on the most. Let me know if that helps! :)

wow, did not realize how wonky my cubes were.  thank you, a picture IS worth a 1000 words.  I can imagine how busy you must be so thank you for being so contentious.  Don't be a victim of your own success :)

I am committing to complete your classes so am starting at the beginning and so am sharing my homework.&nbsp; Elipses definitely need more practice..&nbsp;
