Julia's style + before photos

NEEDS: A comfortable yet refined space that organically reflects our personal treasures collected from cross-country trips and my love of books!

SHAPES: I like how the straight lines seen in the mantle, brickwork, coffee table, console, chair and painting are juxtaposed by the rolled arm of the couch, firewood, ottoman, and cowhide. There's a lot going on in this space but the linear theme keeps it clean while the rounded accents and botanicals bring comfort.

COLOR: I love white as the predominant color in a room accentuated by bold cameos of red and blues and green with the abstract painting thethering all accent colors together.

PATTERN:So much pattern in this space! The bold love pillow, the cowhide, abstract, and floral ceramic ottoman.

TEXTURE: I love how the room combines glass, leather, linen, etc. for the most part, the texture is smooth except for the tall vase, which keeps the room from being overwhelming.

PLACEMENT: I like the asymmetry of coffee free table and sofa to the fireplace. Also, there's obviously a television somewhere since there is a remote, but I like that the fireplace is the focal area since the couch is positioned to face it. The seating area is close together to create a cozy, conversational area. I want to know more about the space behind the fireplace!

BLING: That gold ottoman! Also the reflective vases, bronze table and console with glass and even the small yellow vase on the mantle.

BOTANICALS: The schifflera and split-leafed philodendron are such light plants and add a little bohemian flai. The pink roses look fresh from the garden. Everything looks collected anin unintentional, which I love.
