Job Hob: Elucidating Job Titles

Hi everyone! I love this class so far and am learning so much. My project, JobNob, seeks to help elucidate the many job titles and industries that are out there, so that incoming entry levels will have an easier time learning what they want to do. Titles can be confusing and misleading, and this simply gives an overview of what a certain company does and explains the role of each position. It's essentially a dictionary.

There are two parts to the site — Industry and Category.

  • Industry
    1. This company does x and requires each of the Categories from below.
    2. Industry: a particular form or branch of economic or commercial activity
    3. (arranged by hierarchy)

Industry: Advertising Agency

Industry: Law

Lawyer/ Attorney

Industry: Restaurant

  • Compare to Category
  1. The people who do x in each Category
  2. Category: a class or division of people or things regarded as having particular shared characteristics
  3. (arranged by alphabetical. Kind of a glossary of each term)

Category: Creative.

Will explain a broad definition of a ‘Creative’ Role.

Each Job Description Includes.
