J.R.R. Tolkien The Hobbit Drop Cap

Hello Everyone I want to show you my process to what I got from the reading and the inspiration that followed.

From these words and thinking I went a little further with the ideas to have them be more focused and came up with some concepts to start the gears going.

Then lastly I drew out my concepts and emailed and texted a few of my close Graphic Design classmates and narrow down my ideas and added and deducted some of my concepts to one that spoke more to me and considering everyones input.

This is my first time taking a Skill Share Project. This project was by far one of my favorites, I am a big fan of Jessica Hische and having her teach the class was one of the most awesome opportunities to see how she works.

Aside from that, with my project I chose the book "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien since I wanted to re-read the book because of the recent movie coming out. With this concept I wanted to have it be very general to the stories plot, so I considered the porthole of Bilbo's home and the figure of the tree to be very representative of the nature and surroundings of the book. The "T" will be a golden foil as well as the door handle and details of the door.

Overall, I know that I can still do more to the project of even change things, possible people will give me some constructive critism.

Thanks Jessica so much for this class!!!
