My pick for this assignment is a danta. Danta or Tapir is a beautiful large animal with the shape of a pig, with a big "nose" and it lives in the forest of South America, Central America, and Southeastern Asia. In Costa Rica we have them and I have always been a fan. Mostly of the babies, they are really cute full of clear spots all over the fur.

I see them as peaceful and chill animals, with a good vibe, so I thought how great their life must be just to walk around inside the forest all day (unless they find a jaguar or a hunter). So I had the idea of combining the words fantastic and danta to express the feeling.

At this point I did some sketches, but I wasn't sure. Did two new versions to practice different type of letters and at the very end decided to go with the initial idea of IT'S DANTASTIC.

This is the sketch of the idea I picked:

I chose a baby danta and used some tribal details for the letters because in my country this fellow's home is at the indigenous areas. The fact that the letters are not perfectly done is intentional, I like the asymmetrical imperfections like that.
