Intuitive illustration - student project

Hi! Thank you Amber, I really enjoyed this class! The exercises were really helpful and interesting, they helped me to get out of my comfort zone. I actually did the "drawing with your eyes closed" exercise a few years ago, but just for fun, and then I totally forgot about it. When I did it before I haven't really thought about the benefit it can have on my drawings and creativity, so this class definitely opened my eyes about that! Hehe :D I'll use these exercises more often from now on, when I feel stuck with my artistic process.

Here are some of my favorite drawings!

#1 Loosening Up

This exercise was fun and quite a challenge for me because I don't often draw things from my head. Here I decided to draw over old unfinished collage and I like have it turned out in the end. I released all of the junk from my head, as you can see!

#2 Drawing with my less dominant hand

I like how the ''mistakes'' contribute to the overall character of the drawing. I didn't overthink and I kept the drawing simple.

#3 Drawing with my eyes closed

I really like how simple, but effective these turned out. I tried to use different colors depending on the mood I was in.

On this one I overlapped two self-portraits. I love how funky it looks, had a good laugh when I opened my eyes. :D

#4 Final project

On the last drawing I decided to change things up a bit so I used Photoshop. I drew the face with my eyes closed and worked from there. I incorporated some of my favorite elements from the previous drawings and this is the result. I'm not especially skilled at Photoshop so that fact also added to the final product.
