Instagram Challenge

Hello!

I've had my Instagram account for about a year and a half now, but I haven't had much success with gaining followers so far. In the beginning I posted very sporadically, but in the last few months I've tried to post more regularly, twice or three times a week at least. Maybe it's my content, I know my skill level is nowhere near all of the professionals' out there. I'm just a hobbyist, but I've been taking lots of classes and really making an effort to improve lately. That being said, I mostly post sketches and doodles and rarely any finished and polished projects. So maybe that's another reason?

Anyway, I'm giving this challenge a shot and maybe gain a few more followers by sticking to Ohn Mar's awesome tipps? I've decided to set myself the task of posting a random little watercolour blot creature or character every day for the next 30 days.

It's been 14 days and I've gained 15 followers. That doesn't seem like a lot, but I am quite happy with the result. I feel a lot more comfortable with Instagram now and by commenting on other users' work I have had some great interactions over the past 2 weeks. I've been posting regularly, putting more thought in my captions and I've tweaked my bio.

Things I plan to do in the future so I hopefully reach 100 follwers and keep growing my account:

  • keep posting and commenting daily
  • managing my time better, so I can make use of natural lighting and take better photos
  • stop posting at random times. I think late afternoon or early evening has worked best for me so far, but I definitely need to explore this more.
  • try using instagram stories and create some video content (I need to get some sort of tripod first though)
  • take part in more challenges and enjoy the sense of community and support of other participants
