Here's my new Insta grid! I was able to move down some of the silly birthday shoutouts and give an initial impression of my photography passions. Buildings and landscapes are my favorite moments to capture, though a good candid shot of friends is always fun! Below are full size versions of the photos and the stories behind them.

On one of the first warm days of the year, I went for a two hour walk around Chicago, my home. I got some really cool shots of unknown buildings, but I wanted to showcase some of the places that people not from Chicago don't normally get to see. Dearborn Station is in Printer's Row, just south of the Loop. It once was a train station, and now houses the Bar Louie I frequented in college and the hot yoga place I frequent now. A beautiful Chicago sunrise. I shot this while dog-walking. The one of the few redeeming qualities winter has is the way the empty tree branches look like veins. No edit, no filter.

I recently started working at a different branch of my company, southwest of the downtown hustle and bustle where I used to work. This is my view during my new walk back to the Blue Line. My favorite part: see the blue building poking out on the left? That's Roosevelt University, my alma mater. Edited with VSCOcam.

For Christmas this year my little sister got moon sand. She was the only one who was uninterested with it - the whole rest of the family couldn't put it down. I was able to get the moon sand all to myself and created this. This picture is not edited or filtered.

I took this picture during my high school senior spring break trip to Chicago in 2010. I had decided to go to Roosevelt University, so my family and I were getting better acquainted with my new home. I took this picture of the John Hancock building with my enV Touch - looking at this picture years later I'm surprised by the quality of the cell phone camera. Edited with VSCO.

I snapped this shot in December 2011 on a family trip. This was during the drive from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. This trip was really important to me because I was born in California, but grew up in Michigan from the time I was a baby. This was my first time back to my homeland in 19 years, since I had left. I took a lot of pictures, but my computer corrupted most of them. This is one of the few that survived. Edited with VSCO.

My friend is in a Chicago-based band called Alive/Alone. This was the first time I've seen them perform, at a Battle of the Bands at Moe's Tavern. These guys weren't trying to win the Battle; their east coast tour started several days before before the finals. They were there because it was an opportunity to perform and that's all they want to do. I did not edit or filter this picture.

This is from my most recent trip to New York City in February. My friend took me to Houston Street, and told me that we were walking through "Ho, which is between NoHo and SoHo." Edited with VSCO.

In college I became a brother of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity. Being a part of this group helped me grow as a leader, gave me true friends all over the country, and allowed me to help countless people through community service projects. I had the opportunity to visit the National Office in Independence, Missouri, and sign my name on the wall. This is a pilgrimage of sorts, and many of my brothers are jealous that I got to go!
