INKY VALENTINE

Milestone 1

Here are my ideas so far...

1. Valentines sweets: Chocolate truffles, conversation hearts, little cakes, decorated heart cookies.

2. Lingerie: Either his & her's or just a mess of women's lingerie. Maybe a snappy phrase to go with it.

UPDATED MILESTONE 1

I was having trouble moving ahead with my first concepts. The problem was lacking the funny Valentine saying or pun, so I started brain storming that and came up with "Valentine, you are my partner in crime."

I put a lot of detail into the sketch but I hope to make the line work pretty loose. For the Tools for the Trade project I really wanted to embrace the style and practice the inky marks. For this piece I'd like to focus my marks a little more. We'll see how it goes.

Here are the blocked out colors with the sketch turned down very low underneath.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE: BARTENDER

f7c21e35

I brainstormed for awhile, but my biggest down fall is taking too long to make a decision. So I'm taking Tom's good advice not to over think it and going with one of my first ideas: bartender tools.

The Tools: Gin bottle, soda water bottle, low ball glass, stirring spoon, and lime. A shot glass is there too sometimes.

Idea Sheet: (baking was also a first idea)
