Day 4: Latest reading material
These are my favorite books at the moment. Art in 30 seconds is a collection of short articles about the most famous artworks in history. Van Gogh, well that one is pretty obvious. It's Vincent van Gogh's biography and contains all of his paintings. I'm a big admirer of his art and seeing his development through the years and different stages of his life was very interesting and inspiring to me. The subtle art of not giving a fuck and Reasons to stay alive are both books that helped me appreciate life with everything it has to offer, good or bad. I love books that are written from personal experience because you can always learn something new and apply it to your own life.
Day 3: Creating with
Just some of my favorite art supplies. I obviously use way more than that but those are the ones I've been liking the most lately.
I usually tend to use too many colors in my illustrations, so limiting it to only two colors was a bit of a challenge for me but I'm actually really happy with how it turned out.
Day 2: Recently I learned
Here I was inspired by a conversation I had with a doctor a few weeks ago. I've been struggling with social anxiety for many years and one of my biggest fears is making mistakes and being yelled at. The doctor told me a trick that has since then helped me in many different situations:
When you're talking to someone who's angry or bitter, just picture an imaginary 8 around you and that person. Each of you have their own energy circle and those two circles are also connected. But if that other person has negative energy in their circle, your circle doesn't have to be influenced by that. You can just build an imaginary wall to protect yourself and your own energy. It's basically about not letting other people drag you down but instead keeping your positive energy even in bad situations.
Day 1: Currently listening to
I've been listening to a lot of Machine Gun Kelly's music lately and since he released a new album a few days ago I thought it would be great to get inspired by that. Especially because I love the whole theme of the album and MGK's new punk rock style.
I had some issues with my markers because they looked very streaky on the paper. Also I accidentally smudged some of the lettering but I'm trying not to worry too much about it. I don't think that the perfect end result is important here.
I loved working on this prompt and getting back into doing simple art just for fun.
