I think I'm getting the hang of this . . . but . . .

My project isn't quite what I'd hoped it would be. I kind of fixated on Proverbs 3:5 & 6, which is way too much text for this kind of project. I chose to paraphrase some of the text, but it still doesn't layout as evenly as I envisioned.

My take-aways for this course:

  • That is an example of trying to force a solution rather than tossing a less than optimal solution and selecting a better approach. I either should have selected a different text, or chosen a different shape for the badge.
  • I got to apply what I learned in the "Award Badge & Ribbon" course to this course. It was actually very good review and practice for that part of the project.
  • Re-making some of the elements of the badge so they would scale better, as well as creating the scalloped edge instead of my previous starburst edge, really helped me firm up the overall process in my mind. I think I could now do this in a variety of different flavors without much difficulty.
  • Putting type on a path sure is a lot easier than it once was! I remember back in Photoshop 5 (when dinosaurs still roamed the earth) it was a bit more of a touchy, involved process.

Helen, this is really a lot of fun. I love your courses, and the projects are just right for the kind of learning I enjoy. Please keep the courses coming.
