I am whole and perfect

10 years from now I am 34-years-old. It is very early on a Sunday morning and I have gotten up before my husband and our two young children to meditate and practice yoga in the converted barn on our property where I teach yoga to a handful of dedicated students a few times a week. Our modest but comfortable home stands on a large lot sheltered by trees that is so near to the Atlantic ocean that I can taste the salt on the breeze that floats in through the open window as I peacefully sip my tea. My home is filled with love, laughter, music, and warmth; on almost every inch of wall space are proudly displayed photos and souvenirs from our annual family trips to a new country or city and summers spent at our lakeside cottage at Blue Point Bay. Once my husband and my children wake up we'll prepare an elaborate Sunday brunch – our weekly tradition; everyone will help with the preparation and the clean-up. We'll sing and dance to lighten the workload.

After brunch we'll pack a picnic and go for a hike or a bike ride with our Boston Terrier or hop in the car and set off to some unknown destination for a few hours, stopping at local markets, bakeries and cafés along the way. The majority of the organic food and goods my family buys are produced and distributed locally.

I glance at the writing for the upcoming week on my desk. I have the weekends off and work and volunteer from home during the week so that I can see my children off to school and my husband off to work every morning and welcome them home every afternoon. I work solely for the satisfaction and sense of contribution I derive from it and not out of financial necessity.
