My project was inspired by a frequent garden visitor on the west coast - the tiny and vibrant Anna's hummingbird. I included hummingbird sage (whose nectar they love to drink) and some roses (where they often perch and hide).
I sketched my images out and coloured them with pencil crayon, fulling intending to do paintings next. But I loved how the pencil crayon turned out, and I was so excited to get started, that I went straight into Photoshop with them!
For my first tile pattern, I used a natural palette that was fairly true to my subjects.
Then I made myself let go and do something more radical.
I had so much fun with this project! Thank you Sandra!
