How to silk screen a patch using the photo emulsion method

In this class I will show you how to silk screen a patch design using the photo emulsion method in a home based atmosphere. The photo emulsion method of silk screen printing can also be applied to print shirts and other garments as well.

Here are some things you will need:

1. Fabric (for the patch)

2. black image on white back ground

3. flood lamp fixture

4. 150 watt incandescent bulb

5. tape measure

6. ruler

7. photo emulsion with sensitizer (you have to add the sensitizer to the emulsion)

8. sink (with spray fixture)

9. paint paddle for mixing

10. screen with frame


12. popsicle sticks

13. packing tape or painters tape

14. timer

15. old white tshirt

16. soft bristle nylon scrub brush

17. fridge (optional)

18. black fabric (or old black tshirt)

19. real piece of glass

20. fabric scissors

21. lint roller (optional)

22. silk screen ink

23. iron

Many of these things are common house hold object or can be bought at a reasonable price at the store.
