How to fail

Failure is based on behavior. When you fail a test, it is not because you didn't know the answers but that you didn't study and take time to learn the answers. My failures have been caused by lack of planning and misdirection of focus. When working on a project, I will make some basic notes and then improvise. This lack of planning is not because I am lazy, but that I am very much interested in the art of improvisation and being in the moment.

I have learned that improvisation follows rules and takes planning and practice. You don't just "do." You have to know what you want to do, even if the tool for accomplishment is improvisation.
