I mixed things up a bit and created a home town crest instead of a family crest. My crest represents the town where my siblings and I grew up. Camden County, Georgia, holds a special place in each of our hearts and this crest includes things that come to mind when I think of back home.
There wasn't much to do in our small town, but football Friday's was always a big deal. I included our high school Wildcat's paw and the words "Go Big Blue" to represent our high school. Our school colors are navy blue, light blue, and white. I added the orange and royal blue for depth.
The Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base is also located in Camden County, Georgia. We were originally relocated to Camden when I was 4 years old because my father was in the Navy. This played a big part in our lives (and many of the other children's lives in our town), because our fathers' would be gone for months at a time while they were serving our country. I represented the Naval Base in the top right hand corner of this crest.
Camden County also has a little waterfront downtown St. Mary's. It's a beautiful place to go sit by the water, fish, have a wedding, play on the playground, and celebrate a holiday (parades and concerts). This is probably the place that everyone in our town is most proud of. I represented the waterfront with a dock on the water that's leading into the sunset.
