I wake with my head feeling as if it had been stuffed with cotton, a dull headache threatening to take over. My memory from the night before is fuzzy but I can remember a man with blonde hair and vibrant blue eyes. The face sparks an emotion inside me I can not correctly place. Digging deeper into my mind, a memory submerges me.
I walk out of the stuffy night club that my best friend, Kylie, had dragged me to. Usually I would frown upon going to a club like this but I complied since it was her birthday. The cool air hits my bare skin showing from my too short, sparkly dress. I lean against the brick wall beside the side exit which was unfortunately in a dimly lit alleyway. I suck in a breath of fresh air, feeling relieved to be away from the sweaty bodies and alcohol inside. “Hello, my love,” a voice with a clear accent says as a man steps out of the shadows. His face is covered by darkness so I couldn’t see much despite his seemingly glowing blue eyes. I stand up straight, prepared to run if needed,”w-who are you?”
“My name is Draven Alexander, your worst nightmare.” He’s in front of me in the blink of an eye and he places a rag over my mouth and nose. I gasp and try to move away but his arm wraps around me as darkness envelopes me.
Kidnapped. I was kidnapped by the man, Draven. Realizing this, I stand quickly and look around to see an unfamiliar room. I move towards the door an turn the handle to discover that is shockingly unlocked. I move swiftly out of the room and silently walk through the house until I find the front door. I scan the room to see that it is empty so I run towards the door. I’m steps away from it when something wrap around my waist, pulling me back. “You’re not going anywhere,” the voice from last night says in my ear, bringing back the emotion I could not place earlier but I could now. Fear.
“What do your want from me?” I ask, trying to keep my voice steady but fail. A deep chuckle comes from the man holding me in place. “Your love,” he replies then moves a piece of my short, curly blonde hair to whisper in my ear, ”I’ve watched you your whole life, Claire.” A shiver goes down my spine and I bite my lip, holding back tears. I could feel Draven’s cool breath on the back of my neck, sending waves of fear through my body.
“I’ve seen you grow up, my love, I watched your first steps, your first words, your first break up. It was very hard not to kill that guy,” he chuckles once again. I keep my back to him, not saying a word as he continues, “I’m not sure why I didn’t kill him. I have more blood on my hands than the world’s most feared killer. You’re probably wondering how, to you I most likely look like an innocent twenty-one year old. I can assure you, I’m not. I’m barely even twenty-one. Do you want to know what I am, Claire?” I stay still, closing my eyes to keep back the tears that were threatening to fall. This man is dangerous and I need to get away from him as soon as possible. I feel his hand wrap around my wrist and he pulls me around to face him, ”I’m a vampire, my love.”
My heart jumps and I feel my feet move backwards, away from the monster in front of me. He walks forward as I move away until my back hits the wall and I look anywhere but the killer’s eyes. I focus on the floor until he pulls my chin up, forcing me to look at him, “I wont hurt you Claire, except now. Stay still.” His voice drops to a whisper on the last two words as he advances towards my neck and I panic, trying to avoid him. I push on his chest but he pins my wrists on either side of my head. He leans forward and I struggle to get away until a sharp, burning pain explodes in the side of my neck.
I cry out in pain and the tears I had been holding back fall freely, landing on Draven’s shoulder. He pulls away, leaving a burning pain. Blood stains his lips, a drop or two on his white button up shirt. My blood.
“W-What have you done to me?” I choke out through the pain which gets worse each time I move. Draven lets go of my wrists and I slide down the door, landing on the floor with a thud. He wipes the red substance off his mouth and peers down at me.
“I made you mine.” I hear right before I give into the darkness edging into my vision.
