HeLLa Rides

A way for commuters to find a ride to work with someone in their neighborhood.

Two types of commuters (that we care about):

  1. Commuters who drive alone 
  2. Commuters who don't drive and have unreliable options

User Stories

  • As a commuter who drives (alone from the East Bay to San Francisco), I'd like to be able to find 2 people who can ride with me over the bridge, so that I can use the HOV +3 lane.

  • As a commuter who drives, I'd like to be able to pick up riders in my neighborhood or on the route that I'm already traveling.
  • As a commuter who drives, I'd like riders to contribute a few dollars to my trip (to cover costs for toll, gas, maintenance of my car).
  • As a commuter who drives, I'd like to be able to choose people I ride with based on shared interests.
  • As a commuter who drives, I'd like to be matched with people who's drop-off is not out of the way from my drop-off.
  • As a carpooler (who travels between the East Bay and San Francisco), I'd like to be able to catch a ride with drivers in my neighbrohood.
  • As a carpooler, I want to know when my ride will arrive.
  • As a carpooler, I want to travel with someone who has a schedule similar to mine.
  • As a carpooler, I want to be able to contribute to the driver's toll and expenses without having to have cash.
  • As a carpooler, I want to catch a ride within walking distance of where I live.
  • As a carpooler, I want to be dropped off withing walking distance of where I work.
