Hat-rack

I'm struggling with the e-mail thing. I have tons of old emails in my inbox - 14,939 to be exact. I am the director of marketing for a retail company - so I wear many hats and correspond with many people. I use Apple Mail program - and I can't tell you how many times having access to all these emails have saved my butt. The mail program has a very handy search feature that I have used many times when referencing past projects or correspondence. Now, I understand the idea of filing the emails to a project as they come in... BUT the problem I see with that is sometimes it takes weeks or sometimes even months to finish a correspondence. I like to keep my e-mails with a "thread" so I can easily view a conversation.

Will I sabatoge myself if I keep this habit up? I DO make it a point to delete unwanted or unimportant e-mails.
