Happy happy:)

Happy happy:) - student project

Normally I draw very elaborate and heavy on details illustrations, so this project was a bit different from my usual routine. I also normally use pen and ink, so finishing the drawing with a pencil was new to me as well. The final result is as far from my usual illustrations as it can possibly be. Which is good, I learned something new here:)

I started with basic sketches of shape-stick figures:

I've chosen a few and moved to the next step - color and texture. I quickly tried a few different variations and liked the most a crescent-diamond sort of figure in a balley pose. In the corner you can see that it decided to be a happy hopping pregnant lady, which was completely fine with me:)

Here is the final result, looking at which I think I should have taken smoother paper and make a bigger drawing, so I could fit more details in it.

Update:
I took another stick figure and developed it to some extent. Now I have two happy dancing ladies, hmmmm....:)
