My project is called Hancock.it http://www.hancock.it
It is a way to super charge your company´s (Gmail) signatures.
As described in site:
Create and manage a universal signature for all of your company's
employees. Easily update and enhance tagline messages and make
your daily emails an effective promotion vehicle.
You can use it to:
Announce new products and services directly in your email's taglines
Tell your clients about what the media is talking about your company.
Talk about events and where your company will be present.
Promote job openings. Let specific recipients know that you are hiring.
You also get access to an admin section where you can track emails and links.
It is currently free, but we want to transition to a freemium subscription model.
If you have any ideas or comments, please let me know!
1. List all major “players” in the system (eg. a marketplace may have two major players: buyers & sellers)
These are the people who are going to pay for the product and manage signatures.
2- Email users
These are the people who are gonna use the product on a daily basis.
2. List out any selfish reasons why each player would need their contacts/friends to join the service
a- People like to reccomend cool stuff to others and fell like they are "hip".
Before a product is widespread, the early adopters like to spread out the word about this cool new dervie that is helping them succeed.
b- Explicit referrals- I am thinking of some sort of product incentive for inviting your friends. Something like: for every friend you invite (and becomes a paid user) you get 1 month of free email managment.
3. List out all things you could possibly charge each player for on the service
I am thinking of a freemium subscription model in which we have 3-5 plans with increasing prices and features available.
i. no hancock.it signature
ii. # of users
iii. # of customized taglines
iv. Advanced reporting
4. For 2 and 3 above give a very short reason you think the player would be motivated to need their contact or pay for the service
i. Paying for what is truly a useful tool that can
a. generate leads
b. serve as a communication channel
c. serve as a hiring channel
ii. Inviting friends - Getting a good value for free + looking cool
