I found an image of a giraffe by Joshua Brill that I want to re-create.

This is my first time using illustrator so it's been a slow start.

I used the pen tool to mark all teh dots on the ears and then braved making the rest of the face using shapes. It kind of back fired because now I'm having trouble with the erase tool. In the video it just works but when I click on it leaves behind more than it erases.

Aftre talking to a friend I now realise that I shouldn't be going anywhere near the erase tool. The idea is to make all of my shapes and then slowly remove all the exta bits.

This is it with all the shapes.

Now to remove all the extra bits.

I had a little trouble with the angles on the edges of lines but I managed to deal with it by going to window>stroke and then smoothening them off.

Now for colour...
