Getting Over My Silly Reluctance to Learn Photoshop Again!

This photo perfectly demonstrates my current feelings towards creative computer programs, like Photoshop.

I work freelance as an Art Department Assistant, Prop Maker and Model Maker in film, TV and advertising, so a lot of my work is very hands-on and organic, as a consequence I have forgotten most of my knowledge of Photoshop, which I learnt the basics of back in college over 6 years ago.

I've been told time and time again it's an excellent creative tool and will generally benefit my portfolio and the career I am pursuing. However, in the past when I have found myself having to use it, I quickly become overwhelmed by the extensive layout and vocabulary of the program, and with a lot of stress I'll just about scrape through using it.

I've decided that enough is enough and I'm finally going to conquer this stubborn reluctance to learn creative computer programs generally by starting from scratch, beginning with Photoshop.

By the end of this project I hope to regain my basic understanding of this program, and to be able to post a photo that demonstrates a feeling far more positive than the cat avoiding the bath!

I also hope to finish with a piece of work I can include in my portfolio to demonstrate I'm good with the keyboard as well as the paintbrush.

Generally feeling relaxed having been reaquainted with the basic layout of Photoshop, the little command short cuts are useful too!
