From image to dot, an exercise in replication.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge.  

I started with a simple picture I took on my phone.


It's leftover paint inside an old muffin tin, wich I use to mix paints when crafting or playing with my son. I liked the color and texture, so I decided to make it my original "dot". Then, I played around with the textures on my CameraBag app, and liked the way the screen looked when all of the presets were shown at the same time, so I took a screen shot of that and then replicated the excersise several times until I got this: 


I like the texture and the different color schemes of each present. I thought about taking the text away but in the end I decided I liked the feel of the dots inside squares.
