Phase 1: Work in Progress

I've been working on the initial stages of the Phase 1 design process, and this is what I've come up with so far. I am worried that this might be a little bit too much like a logo and not enough of a complete label, so I think that's what I'll have to keep working on. It also might be a bit too one-dimensional at this point. Any suggestions about my current design or what I can do to continue to transition this from a "logo" to a label?

Concept.

I'm planning to create a label design for a fictitious paper company (stationery & invitation design and printing). I do some freelance invitation design in my free time, and thought it would be fun to see what it would take to bring the idea of a paper company to life through label design. I've decided to call it Freckled Paper Company. My label will be used on the back of stationery cards, packaging, tagging and/or wrapping.

Themes you'll see on my mood board.

The visual/design themes that I'm drawn to could be described as "shabby chic" with a touch of relaxed fun. It's also very feminine. The typefaces are scripty and calligraphy-inspired, and the colors are light, pulled from neutral and earth tones. I'm still working on the wording that I'll be using, but I know that I want the text and design to be youthful, fun, and original.

What do you think?
