For the Love of a dress

I have always loved fashion. I started reading Vogue at a very young age and have followed it ever since. When I was a kid I wanted to be Picasso and the first thing I ever wanted to be was a fashion designer. I got more into the makeup and photography ultimately but I still find myself doodling dresses and made up faces quite often.

I was excited to see this class listed and as an artist I've always wanted to try my hand at watercolor. I'm quite good with oils and other mediums but this is one that I always struggled with. I hope that with enough practice and love for it, I get better at it. Lately I do a lot of drawing on my ipad and I have a makeup blog (abeautymark.com). Some of my ipad sketches are on instagram

I chose a flowy gown to begin with and something of a fluro shade in this Valentino gown. But I'm downloading some images of dresses/gowns that I love and that inspire me. The gorgeous nude and lace gown is Marchesa. I'm terrified to draw/watercolor this but I think that's a good reason to try! And the lovely angular velvet dress is Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2014 RTW.

So excited to see how this turns out!

The one I like the most is the one I spent the least amt of time on.

I think when you start going with your feelings more and stop "trying so hard" you just tend to roll out better work sometimes.
