Faculty, librarians and researchers in Academic Institution need to be part of the worldwide community of scholars and researchers. In an age of MOOCs, cross-disciplinary research and global opportunity, you need to have a complete and manageable online presence.
This short course will help you build an online identity, using freely available tools such as Academia.edu, Google Scholar Citation and Metrics, licensed resources such as PIVOT, Scopus and ResearcherID, and your own institution's repository. We'll discuss issues such as name normalization, metric sources, publication copyright and more.
Establish your expertise on the web in a way that is focused and targeted. Make sure your online presence captures who you are!
