They can also follow the Folioh blog which provides interesting information and advice from professional artists. was created because we all need an easy way to productively share with, collaborate with, and inspire others.

The Folioh Map
1. List all major “players” in the system (eg. a marketplace may have two major players: buyers & sellers)

a. Artists

b. Employers - Companies and Organizations that want to attract artists to their job postings and events.

2. List out any selfish reasons why each player would need their contacts/friends to join the service

a. Artists - The more people that are on Folioh, the more likely it is that the artist's peices are going to be seen. Inviting your friends means you have more connections within Folioh which means that there are more people to reicieve feedback from. It also gives them the opportunity to see what their friends/ other artists are doing.

b. Employers- This is more about becoming a resource. Once a community is built, employers will have a place to look for prospective artists to fit their needs. Creating not only for a service for artists to display, communicate, and share their work, but also a service to attract entry and mid level professionals to their offers (jobs and events).

3. List out all things you could possibly charge each player for on the service

a. Artists - We can charge artists for a plus membership. With a plus memebership, artists get additional features including things like advanced stats on each of their pieces.

b. Employers - Searching and contacting artists will be free. Two unreleased features, Connect and Jobs, will charge Employers to post job listings and events on the service. These features work in conjunction with the Artists plus membership, as the listings can only be applied for view plus membership.

4. For 2 and 3 above give a very short reason you think the player would be motivated to need their contact or pay for the service

Folioh artists would be motivated to get their friends to join so that they can get more out of Folioh. Connecting with more people means more feedback and more exposure. Additionally, we may motivate users by giving them a plus membership for inviting friends.

Paying for the service means that you can see what viewers are looking at and what they want. When you are trying to get hired, this information can be very useful.

5. a. List the channels (email, facebook, text message, etc.) that you will send your users’ invites through and b. how you will get that contact data

a. We have built an email list of all our current members. We also have an invite system set up.

b. import from webmail api's for AOL, Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail (for starters), and Facebook Connect

6. Create what those invites will look like

Currently we send out a standard email saying "person A" would like you to join Folioh.
