Flip book design

Flip book design - student project

I just started learning InDesign beginning this month, I made this fake wedding planning service flip book / brochure (8" x 7") to put into my portfolio. ;P I exported the file as PDF (print quality) and screenshot them (JPG) to be posted here. The images in sequence are cover, inner spreads and back cover.

I have a question regarding placing image into InDesign. Referring to the last image below with the blurred frame elements - this is a vector image created in AI and converted to PNG file, then placed into ID; I exported the file as PDF interactive. Whereas for the clear version, I actually copied and pasted the illustration directly from AI to ID. Is this how it should be done? Or are there any steps to take to ensure PNG files appear clear and sharp in ID?

I hope you understand what I'm trying to ask here. :) Thanks!
