First Pattern, Ever!

First Pattern, Ever! - student project

I thoroughly enjoyed this course, as it helped me to design my very first pattern. It was great to learn the different techniques which you can use to create various types of patterned wallpaper.

Materials used:

Bristol board paper

Pencil, eraser, ruler and a fineliner

Cutter (which made it go a little wrong!)

I drew a few plants and then when I had measured out the paper, it all looked even, until I used the cutter to slice the page in half. That's when it ended up cutting at an angle, which is very noticeable in the final line up.

I then filled in some of the blank space with a few more plants, scanned it and finished it off in Photoshop by removing some of the lines from the cut paper and setting all of the pieces in place.
