First Attempt - Sea Turtle

This is my first attempt. It's not a deer but the principles are the same. It just looked too much like a turtle to begin with, I couldn't not go with that!

Then these: sorry for bad lighting, it's night time :/



And finally ended up with this one. Should I stop here or keep going? I have a habit of going too far but I feel like maybe a few spots on the front wing might help.. I kind of wish at the beginning I had put the detail on the front wing instead as the back one sort of already had the shape defined by the first layer and I could have left it untouched.
